Honda Z50 K0 #5
VIN# Z50-108916
Bright
Yellow / White

This bike was delivered
to me in boxes and was very complete. The
previous owner was good to put every nut/washer/bolt back in
its' place in the boxes so it was easy to keep all the
original hardware. Prior to assembly, I decided to
give it a fresh coat of paint and polish up all the
hardware. The original handlebars are straight as an
arrow and the chrome was just polished up. Same for
most all pieces including that hard to find On/Off switch.
I found a very nice original K0 seat (yes they are
different) and reproduction white grips and
levers. The K0 seat is
different than any other versions, as it has an additional
pleat, and has a slightly different kick up in the rear.
I used the original throttle cable, and the original brake cables are just going to need a bit
of cleaning, and I'd like to find out how to dye them back
to the original grey color. I've put reproduction
brake cables on for now.
The
first time I tried to start it after completion, the on/off
switch lever broke off in my hand. Luckily I had an
NOS one stashed away.
All in all, this is one
of the most complete little Z50 K0's out there. It was
fun putting it together as the entire bike has only less
than 50 bolts! By the way, those are the original
badges on the tank as well..
